7/10/2017, Boynton Beach, FL– Jodi Glacer, the South Florida area owner of the national franchise Senior Care Authority, was invited earlier this year to clarify what Assisted Living Communities, Residential Care Homes and Memory Care locations are really like. Jodi was invited to speak on the internet television show You and Your Doctor, on AMP2TV network, which aired 2/28/17. Jodi discussed the fact that Assisted Living has changed over the years, and how different it is than most imagine. “Assisted Living options have expanded; people don’t realize they have choices to meet their specific set of health issues and circumstances, while also offering safe, pleasant and engaging surroundings.”
According to Jodi, “the decision to move into assisted living is due to a dire need to move. Either a fall has taken place and the person can no longer maneuver around the home or dementia reaches a point making it unsafe to live at home.”
Further, Jodi reports that visiting places that meet all the following needs can be a time-consuming process:
- match homes suited to personality and diagnoses
- meet your financial requirements
- locations near family, friends, work
- positive inspection reports
“And if the family members (usually the adult children) live in another state than their loved-one, this can be especially difficult.” These topics are discussed in this interview.
